4.21.07 Ride
Trail was in great condition! The new sections are starting to get packed down nicely.
Yankee Springs Time Trial is today and there should be a lot of Village people there. Wish us luck!

Yankee Time Trial was great, but my time was many minutes slower than last year. Too much couch time with chips and beer in my lap. I did have a flat in the last 100 yards of the race, but still sprinted it out. No damage to my Velocity rims, or the Specialized FastTrack tires. I'm thinking about getting the FastTrack Armadillos now!!
I saw 2 other Riders Club Members out there and everyone was courteous on the trail.
Good times! Hope to see you at the upcoming VBS Mountain Rides!! Greenville is coming up Saturday @ 5:30. Our Plainfield shop has details if anyone is interested.

This weekend the Western Chapter of MMBA did trail work days at the Ski Area and at Egypt Valley. I had 2 customers come in today and describe what the new re-routes were and say they liked the flow. I haven't seen this much attention to trail conditions in a LONG time and certainly not in this area.
Here's a heartfelt thanks from everyone at my shop to all of the volunteers that keep our trails in such great shape!
It's storming right now, so hopefully riders will remember to respect the trail conditions and not ride when it can cause damage to the trail. My morning ride is probably cancelled, and not just because I'm a pansy!
Cheers!

New trails at the Ski Area are awesome! There will be an 8 Hour XC mountain race there on June 23rd. I thought the trail was way too short for that, but it's coming along nicely. Western Chapter MMBA is getting it done and needs your support. Become a member, donate $$, donate time... it IS worth it.
Benjamin even got out on a mountain bike without hugging any trees. That hairy happy hippie!
Cheers!

6.16 ride was great! There is an 8 hour race coming up at Cannonsburg Ski Area and this was a test run to see where the passing spots were and what might give our team trouble. Benjamin took a nice digger and got dirty while busting the bar end off my Homegrown. We were joking about that in the parking lot until Ashley came out of the trail about a dozen shades darker than when she started. Ever seen Mary Poppins? She looked like a chimney sweep! Head first over the bars and had dirt ALL over her face and bodyl.
Then we messed around with her Fixie in the parking lot. I might get one of those yet...
Cheers!
