About Me:

While this is just my fifth year of competitive cycling, I come to the sport from a long background of athletic competition. For eighteen years I was primarily a runner, but also engaged in duathlon’s (run/bike/run) for 4 years and went to the World Championships in 2000 and 2001. In 2000, I received a PhD in Exercise Metabolism and Nutrition, and have been teaching as the university level for ten years. Currently, I am an Associate Professor at Fresno State in the Department of Kinesiology where I teach physiology and nutrition. Off the bike and away from the class room, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband Gus and our two dogs Sadie and Calfee.
