Sea Otter W 35+/Cat Crit

Sea Otter Crit: W 35+/ Cat 4 Riders: 21 (combined) Teams: Us. Baker, Wiki, Furman, Vanessa, Karena, Goose, Evan, Jeanine.
This race seemed like a good idea when I reg'd....Lots of teammates with the plan of getting Goose and Karena to the line first. This became a lot more of a challenge after the first 50 minutes around the course in the 123 race.
34' of this 35' race was fun. The pace was manageable HH was always on the front except for two laps maybe. I got to see Wiki puff her arms out to protect herself from the smallest bike racer I have ever been a race course with!
I was REALLY happy and proud of Goose for sticking it out through the tough laps near the end. I asked if we had Goose before the last couple and she was right there--a bit winded but there in the perfect spot, with her horsies around her.
Furman told what came down the last lap as I remember it. It just sort of blew up and became a free for all. The green teen was fast no doubt but when you bring a team like we did you gotta get the win. Furman's plan was good we just did not deliver, but the cheeseburger and beer at Chilli's afterward sure did!
