Decline Team America's Journal
Blast the Mass race report

Specialized/decline Team America rider Cody Warren fought his way onto the podium this weekend with a 4th place finish at the “Blast the Mass” stop of the Mountain States Cup Series. Cody battled one of the toughest courses of the year full of wide open dust runs, fields of rock, and speeds that would even make Cole Trickle cringe. Coming back from a flat tire in his qualifying run, Cody sat in the “hot seat” for almost an hour surprising the field as the comeback kid.
Unfortunately the weekend wasn’t completely filled with high spirits for Team America as 2007 U.S. National Downhill Champion, Cole Bangert, suffered a broken collarbone after high-siding in a turn while traveling 25mph. Cole plans to take the next few events off to allow his body to heal before returning at the end of August to finish the race season and shoot his section for “Stars and Bars, 2”.
Keep an eye out for the Team America crew as they head east for the 2008 U.S. National Championships at Mount Snow, Vermont, where Team America member Chris Herndon will attempt to defend his 2007 U.S. Dual Slalom National Championship. Following nationals, the team will head up to Canada to continue to their chase in the UCI World Cup series at Mont-Sainte-Anne and Bromont.
Team America would like to thank its sponsors for all their support: Specialized Bicycles and Tires, decline magazine, Fox Riders Co., DT Swiss, SR Suntour, Shimano, Sunline, SDG USA, Diablo Freeride Park, Cane Creek, Freelap Timing Systems, Scott USA, MTB ID Systems and Dylan Dean Designs.
