Designs for Women Month and the Launch of the New d4wgear.com

Designs for Women Month

The contest is on March 1st, 2008! Specialized Designs for Women is giving away a trip for two on a Riders Club trip. The promotion is up and running in Designs for Women stores across the country as well as online at the all-new Designs for Women website www.d4wgear.com.

The grand prize includes airfare and lodging for two on one of the following dream trips; Women’s Wine Country Cycling Retreat in Los Olivos, CA, Women’s Mountain Bike Retreat in Pisgah Forest of North Carolina, Wine Country Cycling Retreat in Napa or 24 Hours of Moab as a member of the Designs for Women team.

Along with the launch of the contest, is the release of the Limited Edition Propero Komen helmet which is now available at Specialized Dealers across the country. 10% of the retail sale will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure to fund breast cancer research and awareness.

In this on-line age, one of the best ways to reach the female consumer is through the internet. This is why Specialized Designs for Women redesigned our women’s website. The new site will be launching March 1^st as a kick off to Designs for Women month.

The Designs for Women site is a place for cyclists to come and learn about our philosophy, products and initiatives as well as get connected with the many resources that Specialized has to offer including “How to” videos, Riders Club information, and our demo program.

In the past the women’s website has consisted as a microsite showing a brief introduction to Designs for Women through highlight product and fun information pages. The new site has been expanded, updated, and totally redesigned to not only showcase the depth of product that Specialized produces for women but also to inform people about the many initiatives that we have on the go – in other words the site has matured and grown in the same way that the product has.

The new site will still be accessible from www.specialized.com/designsforwomen as well as through its unique URL of www.d4wgear.com. Check out some of the highlights from the site. (Please not that the site will not be live until March 1st!)
