October Bike Review - Tricross and Transition
posted by id* at 09:29 AM on November 02, 2007
Wow, these are great bikes. In October I had a chance to ride the 2008 S-Works Tricross and the 2008 S-Works Transition. Both of these all carbon bikes are pure race machines and not only were more comfortable to ride then anything I've been on before they both made me faster!
Take a look at my reviews here:
S-Works Transition tested in Kona Hawaii
S-Works Tricross tested in Tahoe and at the Bay Area Super Prestige cyclocross race.

The Tricross is a cyclocross bike. It's listed on the Specialized website under All-road and Freeroad.
A 'cross' bike can be used for racing cyclocross, for riding on trails and dirt roads, for all season commuting and for any kind of riding that's a bit more off the beaten path
The single speed tricross is super cool, but the S-works is crazy light - as in should be illegal it's so sweet.

I have always been a mountain biker. I got myself a Tricross Comp Double recently. It is great and the flexibility of the bike has opened up a lot of new riding opportunites.
Since my bike is still new, and I am not too sure what dirt stuff it can handle, I have not tackled any gnarly trails - in your review you mentioned that you even rode some small rock gardens - wow! Sounds like my mountain bikes may not get so much attention anymore.
